Eight years after Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy hit theatres, Will Ferrell has announced he will return to role for a sequel.
"As of 0:900 Mountain Time, Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel to Anchorman," he said.
"It is official! There will be a sequel to Anchorman. There will be a sequel."
Movie website deadline reports that Anchorman 2 will be produced under mogul Judd Apatow's banner with Ferrell's and Adam McKay's Gary Sanchez Productions.
McKay would direct as well as write the script with Ferrell who will star again as Ron Burgundy along with the 2004 original's castmembers Steve Carell and Paul Rudd and David Koechner.
